PancakeSwap refunds interface fees paid by Uniswap users

PancakeSwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX), has initiated a campaign to reimburse traders for the interface fees paid to their competitor Uniswap.

The campaign will run from May 16 to August 15 and offers a 1:1 refund for trading volumes made on Uniswap v3 and PancakeSwap v3.

This initiative follows Uniswap Labs’ decision in April to increase the interface fee from 0.15% to 0.25% for most swaps.

“As a leading multi-chain DEX, we are committed to offering a direct solution as this campaign promises lower fees, better prices, and refunds of excess fees paid on other platforms,” said PancakeSwap CEO Mochi.

To be eligible for a refund, traders must meet the following criteria:

1) Conduct transactions worth at least $5,000 in bitcoin (WBTC) or ether (WETH) wrappers on the Ethereum Uniswap platform between January 1 and March 31.
2) Check your eligibility for the promotion through the Dune dashboard by PancakeSwap.
3) Fill out the form to receive a refund.

This campaign is part of PancakeSwap’s broader efforts to gain a larger share of the DEX market.

PancakeSwap is currently ranked fifth among DEX in terms of daily trading volume, behind only Uniswap v3, which exceeds PancakeSwap’s volume by more than $700 million.
